The Looney Family

Friday, September 19, 2014

I have had the honor of taking photos of Rachel and Holly for many years.  Their photo shoots are always filled with lots of laughs and beautiful photos!  Holly contacted me about doing some surprise photos for her mom's birthday and I was so excited to help out.  Once again the photo shoot was filled with many laughs.  I want to wish Karen Looney a very happy birthday and I hope you loved the new photos of the girls!

This week at Creative Touch

Sunday, September 7, 2014

It might have been a short week but it was a busy and fun one! Between volleyball, football, and pageants the camera is ready for a short day of rest today.

Lady Bobcat Volleyball
The Lady Bobcats volleyball teams played a home game against Midland on Thursday.  All three teams collected wins!  That always puts Coach Berry in a better mood at the end of the night.  A few things that stand out from the evening was a 12 point serving streak from Briley Henson to win set one for the Jr High team.  The senior high team was without Emma Rice who went out with an ankle sprain early in the week but she should be back on the floor this coming week.  The senior high team played great together in a new rotation and won the match in 3 sets. The Lady Bobcats will be playing away at Pocahontas on Monday and at Midland on Tuesday.  The teams will be back at home on Thursday in a big conference match with CRA.

Bobcat Football
On Friday night I traveled to Corning to shoot the Walnut Ridge vs Corning game.  The WR Bobcats got their only touchdown on a run by Martin Crisler.  Tyler Binkley followed his run with running into the end zone for the 2 pt conversion.  The Bobcats will be at home this week and the Jr Bobcats will be on the road at Rector.

Sorta neat to have a photo I took on the back of my shirt all while taking photos on the sidelines.  (photo credits to Janna Berry)

Miss River Delta & Miss NEA
Saturday morning my mom and I headed to Blytheville for Miss River Delta and Miss NEA pageants.  The afternoon started with interviews at the Holiday Inn, which is always such a great host.  The pageant was held a Blytheville High School.  It is always great to see friends made through the pageant system and meet new ones.  With the crowning of new queens you have to always let go of the ones passing the crown on.  Miss River Delta Outstanding Teen Robin Galloway and Miss Northeast Arkansas Lacey Moore did a great job representing their titles this past year, and it was such a joy to spend time with these ladies throughout the year.  Miss Northeast Arkansas Bethany Bell was unable to be with us last night due to having started her masters degree at Boston University.  Miss River Delta Jennifer Ulloa was a great representative and all while spending part of her title year in Spain.  With the close of the pageant comes the crowning of new queens.  I am excited to spend time with these young ladies this next year and I know they will do a great job representing their titles!

These young ladies have been working hard all summer and are looking forward to the season. The Lady Bobcats will be playing their first home game next Tuesday the 26th against Newport.  Come out and support them!  They will also be playing a tough match against Harrisburg at home next Thursday the 28th!

Walnut Ridge Football Pictures

Friday, August 8, 2014

School is quickly approaching so the time has come to get all the sports preseason photos completed.  The most exciting thing about the start of a new school year is the excitement that comes with football season!  Today we added to that excitement with the official photos. Once the photos are taken for the media, it means the first game of the season is coming soon! Anyone that knows me knows that I love standing on the sidelines shooting the games, and I can't wait to be there again this season. Today was filled with a little less action than those Thursday and Friday nights but still a great (hot) day out on the field.  My inspiration to play off of for football photos this year came from the new Walnut Ridge football t-shirts that nicely display the photo I took for them. After the press box backdrop for individual photos, we headed into the field house for traditional team pictures. I am looking forward to shooting the games this season and I'm excited for all that comes with a new school year!

Meet the 2014 Bobcat Senior & Junior High Football Teams!!

The Alleycat dance team is selling these shirts featuring a photo that was taken by yours truly.  If you haven't ordered one of these t-shirts you can contact Sloane Kelley at the High School.

Miss Batesville & Miss White River

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

Last Saturday night was spent with pageant friends and taking photos.  It was a fantastic competition!  Mark Sparks has done a great job directing the Miss White River and Miss Batesville pageants.  I have had the privilege to work with these two pageants for several years now, and they are a wonderful group to work with.  The day started with the teen talent competition in the afternoon.  It was jam packed with very talented young women.  Following the afternoon show I went with the ladies of the Northeast Arkansas Pageant Association, Kelli Collins, and Renee Notto to our favorite restaurant Elizabeth's in downtown Batesville.  This has become a tradition of ours before attending the night shows of the two pageants. People often ask why I like to shoot pageants and the answer is very easy, the amount of friendships I have made are simply enough but the truly great thing is watching the girls grow into amazing young women.  Kelli, for example, I first met while she was apart of the Diamond State Princess program now here she is about to enter her senior year of high school after competing in MAOT several years!

The show last night started off with Miss White River Klancy Johnson doing a fabulous job singing the National Anthem.  The production number quickly followed with Klancy and Miss Batesville Rachel Roebuck singing "Neon Lights" with some tap moments from Miss White River OT Cori Keller.  Not to be out shined by the teen contestants the miss contestants were just as talented. The talents Saturday night ranged from piano players, singers, dancers and a ribbon dancer, which was a neat talent that made for some awesome photos! Evening gown for all was breath taking! As the evening came to a close it was time for the current queens to give their farewells.  Rachel, Klancy and Cori all did a fabulous job representing the White River Pageant Association this year, so as you can imagine it was an emotional time for them.  Now the moment everyone had been waiting for.......the announcement of the new title holders.

Miss White River OT Kyla Soden, Miss White River Samantha Hudon, Mark Sparks, Miss Batesville Savannah Skidmore, and Miss Batesville OT Olivia Tuggle.

Congratulations to all four of these young ladies and to their awesome director, Mark! I look forward to watching all these new title holders compete at the state pageants next summer!!
